Lake Eufaula

Nestled in Southeastern Oklahoma and cradled by hills and mountains is Beautiful Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma's largest manmade lake. With 600 miles of shoreline, it flows through several counties. Lake Eufaula is located in Oklahoma's Kiamichi Country. The towns of Eufaula and Checotah are central to the lake. McAlester is the largest city on the lake.

On the north side of the lake you will find Fountainhead State Park. Within the park are many tent and RV campsites, stables for horseback riding, Fountainhead Golf Course with a Pro Shop, Lake Eufaula Marina featuring the State's largest indoor/outdoor fishing arena, a Visitor's Center, trails for walkers and bikers, and an Airport with a 3,000 foot runway with lighting and tie-down hooks.  

On the south side of the lake is Arrowhead State Park. It amasses 2,202 acres of wooded foothills dotted with trails and recreational experiences. It offers 160 campsites in four campgrounds, comfort stations with showers and RV sanitary dump stations make Arrowhead a complete camping park. The Group Camp can accommodate 144 people in six air-conditioned and heated bunkhouses. An 18-hole top of the mountain golf course, surrounded by Lake Eufaula, offers a beautiful view and a Pro Shop. Arrowhead Marina is equipped with an enclosed fishing dock, bait, tackle, gas and paddle-boats for rent. A beach for swimming with a change house is located in Lakeview Circle. Arrowhead offers an equestrian campground with 20 miles of equestrian trails at no charge. An Airstrip, lighted and radio-equipped with outside tie-down storage for 10 planes, is available at no charge.

The Corps of Engineers manages over 20 recreation areas with service varying from primitive camping to sites with utility hookups. Handicap sites are available.
